What does it mean to be accredited? And why is it important?
"Accreditation is a sign of quality and is an important consideration when choosing a service provider. Achieving accreditation requires a service provider to commit to quality improvement, focus on the unique needs of each person the provider serves, and monitor the results of services. A service provider begins the accreditation process with an internal examination of its program and business practices. Then the provider requests an on-site survey that will be conducted by a team of expert practitioners selected by CARF. During the survey, the provider must demonstrate that it conforms to a series of rigorous and internationally recognized CARF standards."
"PDSCL is complimented for the extraordinary tenure of its leadership team. Most of the leadership members have been with PDSCL for 20 years or more, with some members having 30 years of service with the organization. "
"PDSCL employs warm, competent, and respectful staff members. Throughout the survey process, the staff members demonstrated compassion, pateince, enthusiasm and pride in the supports they provide."
"PDSCL has developed a comprehensive person-centred format for its individual support plans that include concepts, tools and skills."
